THE release of A-level examination results last Thursday saw another very successful year for Farnborough Hill with A*/A percentages up again from last year to 48 per cent with 95 per cent at A* to C.

There was success across the board with the vast majority of girls getting their first choice universities.

Leading the way were the school’s Oxbridge candidates who all secured their places, Lucy Collins with A*A*A*A reading natural sciences at Trinity Hall, Cambridge; Holly Smith was awarded A*A*A*A and will be reading history at Pembroke College, Cambridge; and Carys Dally with A*AA will go on to study experimental psychology at Wadham College, University of Oxford.

Other top achievers included Rebecca Cameron with A*A*A she will go on to read earth science at Durham, and Eleanor Selby with A*AA will be studying history at Durham.

Laura Smolinski will be heading to Birmingham to study medicine, alongside Saskia Vince who is going to study geography with a year abroad.

Kailey Aliyar was over the moon after receiving AAAA, which secured her a place at Durham to study economics and management; Beth Voller will go to Exeter to read mathematics after being awarded A*AB; and Natalie Bretherton with AAA will read biochemistry at Bristol.

Headmistress Sarah Buckle said, “Once again we are very proud of our students’ achievements. They are multi-talented and excel in a whole range of extra-curricular activities as well as their academic studies, they thoroughly deserve their excellent results.
