STUDENTS from Rodborough School, in Witley, announced results well above the national average for GCSE results – with 72 per cent of our pupils achieved a grade C or above in five or more of their GCSE subjects, including English and mathematics.

The national picture showed there has been a reduction in the number of candidates attaining a C grade or higher in English (62.9 per cent) while Rodborough has seen an increase in higher grade passes to 80 per cent. In mathematics the national figure is 66.7 per cent while this year’s figure was 83 per cent.

Headteacher Matthew Armstrong-Harris said: “My congratulations go to all of our students on their achievements this year.

“Once again we are delighted with the success of our students. This year we have seen an increase in the number of students making more than expected progress in English and maths as well as an increase in the number attaining the highest grades.

“I am grateful for the hard work and commitment of the staff, who have shown exceptional commitment in the way that they have supported our students. Our students should be very proud of their achievements and I wish them well in their future pursuits.”

This year’s highest achievers with eight or more A* to A at GCSE were: Eve Brennan, Poppy Brook, Jackson Brooks, Francesca Brosnahan, Max Culver, Isobel Dalton, Tia Gamble, Holly Giles, Anissa Greenan, Keir Hargreaves, Jessica Herring, Max Holland, Eleanor Holloway, Eleanor Hudson, Lois Sewell and Alexander Thompson.

Emily Porter achieved A* grades in all 11 of her GCSEs.
