STUDENTS at Weydon School celebrated their many sporting successes with the publication of the school newspaper, Weydon World.

The 24-page, full-colour paper is full of stories featuring Olympic cyclists, Atlantic rowers and other notable sporting stars who have visited the Farnham school.

There are also match reports and pictures from athletics meetings, cup finals and foreign trips.

Weydon director of sport, Karl Brown said: “The importance of PE and sport cannot be overstated in today’s society. With the growing number of physical, mental and social health issues, sport is in a unique position to be able to offer guidance and support to students, and indeed people of all ages, to enable them to have a positive and healthy outlook on life.”

He added it is a “really exciting time for sports people in this country, and we are all looking forward to a brilliant year of sport ahead”.
