PUPILS at St Peter’s Primary School are enjoying extended outdoor learning sessions thanks to a canopy built with landscaping materials donated by Kebur Garden Materials in Farnborough.

The school’s one-acre wooded ‘forest school’ area is used daily as an environment for learning beyond the classroom.

Nicola Webzell, the school’s forest school leader, said: “The forest school philosophy encourages children of all ages to take risks and step outside their comfort zone. There is so much that can be achieved by learning in the outdoor environment.”

Sarah Dunning, headteacher added: “We are very grateful to Kebur for facilitating the canopy. It means that we now have some shelter in adverse weather and we can also use it as an additional learning zone. Our forest school provision is a key element of the curriculum.”

Jo Holtom from Kebur Garden Materials said: “As a local, family-run business with a community ethos, Kebur is delighted to support the expansion of this important facility that will help children to learn outdoors all year round.”
