YEAR 1 pupils at St Polycarp’s School in Farnham undertook a sponsored reading challenge to raise funds for the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity.

During just two weeks the children, aged five and six years old, raised nearly £500 for the charity.

The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity mascot, Teddy Arkell, visited the school to thank the children for their brilliant fundraising and to find out what their favourite books were.

Hazel Radnor, from Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the pupils from St Polycarp’s.

“They were so enthusiastic and raised an amazing amount which will make a big difference to the lives of people with dyslexia.”
