STUDENTS across the area have stood up and got active in support of Active Surrey’s Stand Up Surrey Schools campaign.
St Polycarp’s Catholic Primary School and Folly Hill Infant School, both in Farnham, are among more than 100 primary schools in Surrey to have signed up to the campaign so far.
St Polycarp’s held an active learning day on April 26, starting with families actively travelling to school, something already encouraged there.
Headteacher Paula Best then led an active assembly involving active collective worship and singing with actions.
As usual, the Sports Crew and playground leaders led active games on both playgrounds using equipment from the ‘Let’s Get Active’ playground sheds.
Over at Folly Hill infants, the fun started and ended with dancing and exercises in the hall, as well as an active assembly and an obstacle course at break time.
And the active theme is set to continue in May when Team GB tumbler Dominic Mensah visits the school to talk about his career and share some of his skills.
Each class will also have a sports trip to Runabout, Airhop or Farnborough Bowl, and take part in sports day.
