Tilford Cricket Club launched their preparations for the 2001 season at their recent AGM.
First XI skipper Hamish Macdonald, who led his side to victory in the Stevens Knockout Cup last season, is keen to improve on last year's third place in the I'Anson Division One.
Martin Pryce continues as second XI captain, hoping his side will hold their own on their return to Division Two.
Tim Elliott captains the Club XI that plays host to visiting sides at the club's picturesque ground on Sundays throughout the summer.
A major event for the club this year is the staging of an Edwardian cricket match on Sunday, June 24 as part of the I'Anson Cup Centenary celebrations.
Players, officials and spectators will turn out in authentic costume, giving a flavour of cricket as it was played at the time of the founding of the competition.
Nets are currently being held on Sundays (6-7 pm) at Charterhouse School Sports Club near Godalming and these will continue until Easter.
The club will welcome new players of all abilities. Contact Chris Purdie (01252 722147) or come along to one of the net sessions.
Tilford's season opens on Saturday, April 21 with a friendly against Aldershot CC. I'Anson and National Village Knockout matches start the following weekend.
