DISTRICT planners have commended the vigilance of two local councillors and neighbouring Chalcrafts residents in drawing attention to inaccuracies in proposals for the development of the old Eggars School playing field site.
Due to their vigilance the fault was able to be sorted out amicably before it was too late for it to be rectified, and new houses built too close to Chalcrafts.
Details of this story, plus others arising from EHDC's September north west area community committee meeting, can be seen in the Alton Herald of September 10.
