EAST Hampshire District Council (EHDC) is set to have a new political leader, the third in less than 12 months.

Patrick Burridge, 51, the former deputy leader, is portfolio holder for planning and district councillor for Downland, near Alton, which includes Beech, Bentworth, Chawton, Farringdon, and Wield.

He was elected at a special meeting of the Conservative group last Thursday.
