A LITTLE sunshine has been added to BordonÕs attempts to bloom after district councillors agreed to pay for ten flower baskets for the town to mark the golden jubilee.
The Heartbeat group, which consists of local churches, applied to East Hampshire District CouncilÕs north east area community committee for funds to purchase the flower baskets which will hang on the townÕs approach roads.
Heartbeat is hoping that 50 baskets will hang between May and October to mark the jubilee.
Officers were recommending that the district council gave a grant of £510 to pay for six baskets, but councillors decided to increase the sum to £850, which will pay for ten.
