COMMUNITY First and East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) have announced the launch of this year’s Volunteer Awards.

The awards recognise the time and energy given by volunteers to organisations across the district. They will celebrate the dedication and enthusiasm of local volunteers who make such a difference to the lives of many residents. And any organisation or gropu from the voluntary and community sector can make nominations.

Businesses are being encouraged to nominate staff members who volunteer as there will be an award for Business Team of the Year, alongside five other categories – Young Volunteer of the Year, Team of the Year, Unsung Hero, Lifetime Achievement, and Special Commendation.

The awards will be presented at Festival Hall, Petersfield, on Wednesday, November 29, at 5pm. To nominate a volunteer, visit www. cfirst.org.uk, or call 0300 500 8085. Closing date: Tuesday, October 17, at 5pm.
