SURREY Police is appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian in his late 80s was killed following a collision in Farnham on Tuesday night.

The incident involving a Vauxhall Vivaro grey panel van took place in Lower Weybourne Lane around 8.20pm.

The pedestrian was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance, where he was pronounced dead at around 11.20pm.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the collision and was reopened just before 1am.

Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any other information.
