AN elderly pedestrian escaped with minor injuries after he was hit by a car in Farnham town centre last Saturday .

The accident happened at 1.38pm outside Barclay’s bank at the junction of South Street and The Borough.

Paramedics treated a man believed to be in his 70s at the scene, and he was later taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital with minor injuries.

Town centre traffic was brought to a standstill for around an hour as emergency services dealt with the incident.
