POTHOLES, the poor state of the town's pavements and a lack of traffic wardens led to lively debate during Alton Town Council's electors' meeting.
The meeting heard first from Alan Todd of Hampshire Highways East who sought to soothe concern with good news about Operation Restore and Resilience – a Hampshire County Council initiative to invest an extra £100m over the next seven years in improving the strength and condition of Hampshire's roads.
