THAMES Water is supplying Haslemere residents with bottled water after supplies were cut off last night.

Many Haslemere homes have been without water since 10.30pm due to a power failure at the Blackdown reservoir.

A company spokesman said: “GU27 Customers that are experiencing no water within this area due to the power failure at the local reservoir, can now get bottled water at our water collection point at Tesco, Lion Green Wey Hill Haslemere GU27 1LD.”

Haslemere borough councillor Robert Knowles said: “It does appear this very short period of hot weather means the water system has totally failed. It took me one hour to get through to Thames Water when my water was cut off at 10.30pm last night (July 2).

“I’ve just had to drive to Tesco to get 24 litres of bottled water. But what about people who haven’t got a car? ”
