THE Rural Life Centre in Tilford had the pleasure of welcoming some special American visitors to the centre to visit its Tweedmuir exhibit.
George Labedz who now lives with his family in Chicago, came especially to the centre to visit the exhibit. George was born at the original camp 68 years ago, and brought with him a photograph of his family in their living room at Christmas in 1949.
When his sister and he walked up to the building housing the exhibit they got a very big surprise. The photo they had brought with them was the very same photo the centre had used on the outside of the exhibit.
There were their parents in a life-size image. Neither of them knew the photo had been used in the exhibit as it had been donated by another Tweedsmuir resident,
