TEARS and a unceremonious quick turn of the key brought almost 75 years of history to an end as Woolworths, one of the largest stores in Petersfield town centre, closed its doors for the last time on Tuesday.

Up to 30 staff, along with four workers brought in from its Slough branch since the weekend to help out plus administrators from Deloitte, brought the sad demise of the landmark store in the High Street to its final close.
