THE Anchor Garage in Liphook Square closed its doors at the end of last month.

Long-time owner Barry Haines sold the business 18 months ago. It was taken over by Darren Faulkner, who continued the tradition for sponsoring the children’s competition within Liphook In Bloom.

The sudden closure follows hot on the heels of the felling of the 200-year-old horse chestnut tree outside The Anchor pub and the move by CJ Hampshire, the oldest business previously located in The Square, to Station Road this summer and the recent closure of Carla’s Boutique.
