Enforcement officers contracted from East Hampshire District Council have now started to help keep Waverley’s towns and villages clear of litter.

There will be spot checks around areas prone to littering and Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued to anyone caught dropping litter.

The partnership with East Hampshire will provide the council with extra resources, for a trial period, to put more officers on the ground to catch offenders.

The move will not cost Waverley any money as East Hampshire will keep a proportion of the fines to cover its costs. To report litter or dog fouling visit www.waverley.gov.uk/report-it or call 01483 523524.
