A 53-year-old engineer was tragically killed at an Alton firm when a large metal disc spun off the machine he was working on and struck him in the chest, an inquest heard on Tuesday.

Father-of-one Robert Leeming was knocked to the ground when he was hit between his heart and lungs by the lathe machine's fIying disc at Abacus Engineering in Omega Park.
