STUDENTS at Weydon School in Farnham had a surprise visit from England’s women’s rugby team.
The team came to use Weydon School’s all-weather pitches for their training due to the pitches they were meant to be using at Farnham RUFC being frozen.
The team made full use of Weydon’s facilities to undertake a one-and-a-half hour training session, led by head coach, Simon Middleton and his team.
The opportunity to observe professional sportswomen at close quarters was inspirational to the students who saw the session.
Mr Brown, curriculum area leader for PE, said: “The Red Roses were a pleasure to host, and provided a great opportunity for our students to observe some inspiring role models.
“The students were blown away by the intensity and physicality of the game scenario, and the England players were superb in posing for photographs and answering questions for our students. We all wish them well in their Six Nations games.”
