A TALENTED young ballet dancer from Farnham will be treading the boards in West Sussex this week when he stars in Cinderella in Hollywood.

It will be the third time that Fred Gillman, 14, has performed with the English Youth Ballet, and is set to star with three roles - in act one as a cop and wardrobe master, and in act two as paparazzi.

He told the Herald that although he is excited now, “on the day I’ll feel nervous”.

Fred has been dancing since he was six years old and would like to try for a career in dance. He added that he would like to keep working with the English Youth Ballet.

Proud mum Kate Gillman said: “He loves just going on the stage, he feels at home there.

“His family are really proud of him and very supportive of him, and it’s great that he’s following his dreams and we can’t wait for the show.”

The new ballet, which marks the English Youth Ballet’s 20th anniversary, will be performed at The Hawth Theatre, Crawley, on November 9, at 7.30pm, and November 10, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
