MORE than 40 residents enjoyed the Jamia Ahmadiyya UK open day on Saturday at its Haslemere college.
Guests could watch a short introductory video, were given a tour of the campus, viewed a display of hand-written copies of the Quran and older versions of the Bible and were invited to share a delicious Indian meal with staff and students.
Lecturer Atta Zahid said: “Open day is a very important event as it not only serves to bring the community together, but also seeks to remove misconceptions about the Muslim community if there are any.
“Every year we have more guests.”
