A PUPIL at Weydon School in Farnham has raised more than £1,000 to help fund her trip to Ghana next year, where she will be helping local schools and communities, alongside her classmates.
Katie Summers, 14, raised the money through an African Evening event at Sadza African Food in South Street Farnham, which saw more than 50 people in attendance.
Together with her African evening, Katie has been walking dogs, cleaning cars, babysitting and holding face-painting sessions at the Bourne Stores, to help boost her total.
Thanks go to all of those who donated prizes for the raffle, which included John Goodridge Menswear in Downing Street, Bread of Heaven Bakery in Haslemere, The Bourne Stores and Lavender Hill Company on Frensham Road, and to everyone who came along to help make Katie’s dream a reality.
