Sam Kelly and Jamie Francis are playing for Grayshott Folk Club at Grayshott Village Hall on March 22 at 7.30pm.

They were originally booked to play there in June 2023 but Sam was rushed into hospital just before their gig at Grayshott and the club had to postpone their visit.

Thankfully Sam pulled through a very difficult time and resumed touring the country with Jamie soon afterwards.

Sam is a Radio 2 Folk Award-winning singer, song writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. He heads up his own band called Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys, four of whose members - Evan Carson, Archie Churchill-Moss, Ciaran Algar and Toby Shaer - have played for Grayshott Folk Club.

Jamie is in that band but has also been Sam's longest-serving musical partner and they have collaborated and performed together since their university days in 2010.

In this duo Sam sings and plays guitar while Jamie plays banjo. As a duo they perform inventive interpretations of traditional songs and tunes as well as toe-tapping original compositions together at folk clubs, venues and festivals. In between these songs and tunes they tell anecdotes and stories of their misadventures.

For tickets, priced £15, visit Grayshott post office or call Des O’Byrne on 01428 607096.
