Weekly Sunday afternoon live music events being put on by Vic Cracknell at The Wheatsheaf in Farnham are proving popular.

On October 19 Vic’s Jazz Friends were enjoyed by a good crowd and even had some of the audience dancing.

Vic said: "It’s great to see people coming out and enjoying quality live music in Farnham. There have been many compliments about Sunday’s jazz afternoon and James Deane’s acoustic covers set the week before.

“I have planned some great acts going into November that I know people will enjoy. This Sunday, October 26, it’s fabulous jazz vocalist Sarah Jane Eveleigh, who recently was a hit at the prestigious 606 Jazz Club in London.

“On November 2 it’s acoustic duo Dragonfly Sky, who are much in demand and play a good range of well-known pop from across the decades. On November 9 it's singer Debby Bracknell, who is a regular vocalist with Shakatak and has performed with the likes of Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Boy George and others.

“On November 16, long-established Guildford troubadour Gavin Thomas will bring his Gavin and His Guitar acoustic request show. On November 23 I will be back with my jazz friends for a return. On November 30, Steve Brookes - an original member of The Jam - will bring his bluesy vocals and skilled guitar playing for a set. With pubs closing, it’s important to support the ones around.”

Sunday live music is from 3pm to 5pm, and entry is free. Sunday lunches are available from midday. The Wheatsheaf also has other live music, an open mic each Wednesday night and a monthly quiz night.

Vic’s new single The Sun, The Ocean and Me - an original song from his forthcoming jazz EP - will be released on October 24 and will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms.
