The annual Wonder of Christmas concert brought festive cheer to a packed Alton Maltings Centre on December 6, raising money for Home-Start.

Directed by Jeremy Morrish, the Alton Concert Band was joined by the Alton Choral Society and Ancora, under the direction of Wendy Busby and Lii Carr.

The programme featured a rich variety of styles from jazzy ensemble numbers to traditional carols, with plenty of opportunities for the audience to sing along.

The Alton Concert Band delighted the crowd with a spirited performance of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You.

The finale saw all choirs and band members unite for John Rutter’s Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day and rousing medley An English Christmas, culminating in a heartfelt singalong of O Come All Ye Faithful.
