East Hampshire will give a big welcome to an award-winning indie folk band this weekend as their ongoing UK tour is bringing them to Grayshott.

The well-travelled Ranagri will perform at Grayshott Folk Club this Saturday on the latest leg of their Say Hello tour having played throughout Australia and the UK.

Their latest tour has been heralded as a “bold new era” for the band and their signature cinematic, prog-infused folk.

Ranagri have built a formidable reputation in the folk world thanks to five studio albums and numerous major festival appearances, captivating audiences in places afar as Montreal and New Orleans.

But after travelling the world, they’ve turned inward and are reconnecting with their roots for what promises to be their most evocative and personal tour to date.

“Their Say Hello album explores themes of migration, identity and the enduring search for the meaning of home,” said a spokesperson for the club, with the band taking its name from farmland in rural Ireland.

“It is a work of depth and resonance, shaped by lived experiences and a profound sense of place.

“The four-piece have established a fresh and modern sonic landscape within the Folk genre, captivating audiences both domestically and internationally.

“They are an energetic Festival band but are equally at home playing Folk Clubs with their more intimate writing and thought-provoking lyrics.”

Ranagri have performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, including; Cambridge Folk Festival, Bloom Festival (Dublin), Montelago Festival (Italy), Towersey Festival, a headline slot at Costa Festival Ibiza 2023, Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Union Chapel and Kings Place London.
