Children’s author Julia Donaldson’s award-winning picture book The Gruffalo’s Child will be brought to the stage at the Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24.

In the story, The Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse to tiptoe into the deep dark wood. She follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures - but the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist, does he?

This enchanting adaptation of Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s much-loved tale is by the Tall Stories theatre company – internationally recognised for their storytelling theatre and catchy music.

Their productions include adaptations of Donaldson’s The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and The Smeds and The Smoos, plus The Elmer Adventure – a musical adaptation of the Elmer stories by children’s author David Mckee.

Audience members aged from three to 103 are now invited to join The Gruffalo’s Child on her adventurous mission in a show that features striking costumes, songs, laughter and scary fun.

There will be performances at 1.30pm and 4pm on the Saturday and 11am and 2pm on the Sunday.
