ENTRY has opened for the Waverley 2016 Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, taking place next spring at Frensham Common.
The charity fun run will take place on Sunday, March 20, offering one, three and six-mile courses through the common’s heathland and woodland.
Simon Thornton, portfolio holder for leisure and environment at Waverley Borough Council which is organising the event, said: “This is going to be a great event for everyone taking part and is sure to raise lots of funds to help change the lives of people in need living in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
“Participants can choose whether they’d like to run, jog or walk the course.
“Maybe you want to shed some Christmas pounds, it’s your new year’s resolution to get fit or you want to do something amazing for charity – whatever the reason, it is sure to be a great day for all.”
There will be a fun warm-up at Great Frensham Pond before runners assemble at the start line, as well as a photo booth for participants and spectators to take fun photos as a memento.
