HASLEMERE Museum patron Michael Nicholson will give a talk at the museum on his new novel Dark Rosaleen next month.
Mr Nicholson, an ex-ITN news reader and war correspondent, will also be signing copies of the book.
All money raised from the talk will go to the museum.
The book is a historical novel and is a story of murder, of a starving people held captive, of a failed rebellion during the Irish Famine during 1845-50, when the potato crop failed.
It is billed as a novel where “nothing is exaggerated because there is no need. The truth is appalling enough.”
He said: “If you find the events and their outcome hard to believe, go to the history books and be convinced. Then decide who was to blame.”
Tickets for the talk on Thursday, May 5, at 7.30pm, cost £12 and include a glass of wine. Pre-book at the museum in the High Street or call (01428) 642112.
