THE Mayor of Farnham, David Attfield, and his wife attended the final Performers Together Get Together on Thursday last week ahead of the launch of the 2018 Farnham Flash Festival tomorrow (Friday).

A good number of the participants in the festival were there to hear about the efforts Performers Together have been orchestrating to ensure that as many people as possible know about the festival, and to celebrate the impending excitement.

The colourful brochure and fliers have been disappearing fast – and indeed there were more hands willing to take them at the meeting than there were available!

Thousands of Farnham residents will find a flier appearing through their door with a council mailing, and thousands of brochures have been distributed around venues in the town as well as schools and homes.

The word is getting out online as well, with Twitter in particular beginning to hum with tweets and retweets about all that’s afoot. Once again the month of June in Farnham promises to be a rich one for anyone interested in live performing arts.

The mayor was impressed at the range and variety of performance events on offer, and is planning to join the audience at several of them across the month.

He will be there from the very start - in Gostrey Meadow at 1.45pm on June 1, with Performers Together patron, David Whelton, to open the Flash Festival’s launch event – an exciting two-hour entertainment with something for everyone to enjoy.
