ALTON Quakers led members of the public on a walk around some of the town’s historic places last weekend.

In particular, they and members of the public visited those places where, over the centuries, people have “stood up for peace”.

Member Terri Hall said, despite the rain, feedback has been “very positive” following the event.

The walk was led by Joe Osmond, who guided guests along the footprints of the early, and not so early, peacemakers of Alton.

Quaker Week 2017 featured a series of outreach events recently, to enable the public to learn more about the faith group believes and what its members believe.
