A FARNHAM man accused of faking his death in a £1.25m insurance scam has been arrested in Sydney, Australia.

Alfredo Sanchez, who now goes by the first name Hugo, was taken into custody last week after British police allegedly found his fingerprints on his own death certificate.

The 47 year old, who lived in Farnham with his wife Sophie and four children, is accused of faking his death in 2005 before pocketing a life insurance payment and absconding down under.
