BIRD lovers flocked to Haslemere Museum last Wednesday for thrilling flypasts staged by Hampshire-based FalconHigh display team.
Visitors were able to experience at close quarters interactive flying displays by owls, hawks and falcons, as they took to the skies and swooped down low over the museum grounds.
For many, the most exciting part of the show was lying on the ground and watching the birds fly over their faces.
FalconHigh also mounted a static display in the grounds, featuring a selection of Eagle Owls, Kestrels, Red Tail Hawks, Harris Hawks, Saker and Gyr Falcons and Peregrine Falcons. Team members were on hand to provide more information.
Kay Topping, museum education officer, said: “It was lovely to see so many people both young and old enjoying themselves and experiencing real close-up encounters with these magnificent birds in flight.”
On Tuesday, August 28, there is an invitation to discover more about the fascinating world of bees and visit the museum’s very own observation beehive.
Family memberships are available and include discounts.
