Despite the weather, families were invited along to see the animals from Emma’s Farm, have a picnic (under cover) then join in an Easter Egg Hunt.
Staff said they are grateful to Tesco, the Herald and Eagle Radio for donating the eggs.
Home-Start WeyWater is the chosen charity of Alton Town Mayor, Pam Jones and “were delighted” that she joined in and handed out Easter eggs alongside Whitehill mayor Sally Pond.
The Easter Bonnet parade was “great fun” and the children “worked very hard in creating some amazing results”.
Fi Edwards, Tesco’s community champion, got in the spirit of the event by dressing as an Easter Bunny and provided arts and crafts for the children.
“Home-Start would like to thank everyone who came for their support and taking part,” commented senior co-ordinator, Angela Small. “Home-Start WeyWater is a local family charity which provides friendship and support to families in our community.
“We are currently recruiting home visiting volunteers for our next preparation course in September and volunteer trustees who can offer support at board level, if you are interested in joining this great charity then please contact us on 01420 473555 to find out more.”
