HEADLEY Tennis Club held a Lawn Tennis Association free tennis day, inviting new players, young and old, onto the court.

Organisers said the event, on Sunday, May 13, attracted a good turnout.

The morning session saw the club’s coaching team, Pinpoint Tennis, share expertise with juniors and adults, before co-ordinating a cardio workout.

There was an hour for family tennis followed by lunch.

The afternoon was devoted to club members for an American turnament, organised by Cliff and Shirley Winckless. The winners were Laurence Bulaitis and Jan Dean.

Organisers said it was “a long but very successful day”, with many new members signed up for summer.
