WAVERLEY Borough Council faces possible disciplinary action by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Housing Ombudsman, after refusing to admit liability for exposing a young Farnham couple and their newborn daughter to potentially fatal asbestos.

Raymond Donnelly and Tiffany Kenton have been told by doctors to expect an anxious wait of up to 20 years to discover if they or their baby daughter Lily-Mae will suffer any health consequences as a result of the prolonged exposure to asbestos.

But Waverley is yet to accept full liability despite mounting evidence against them, referring to the asbestos incident as a "mix-up" and merely apologising to the family for the "poor quality of repairs" at their council-owned former home in The Chantrys.
