THE sun shone for the annual ladies’ doubles tournament in memory of Liz Jukes at Brightwell Tennis Club.

A grand total of 16 ladies from Brightwell, Avondale and Wrecclesham along with Liz’s twin daughters participated in the event which was won by Cat McKeracher and Caroline Weaver from Brightwell.

They narrowly defeated their club team mates Jackie West and Vic Brown 7-6 in a very close final.

There was a family feel to the day with Liz’s husband and grandchildren all attending. Liz had been a popular member at Brightwell for more than 40 years, serving on the committee, playing in the teams and enthusiastically participating in all its social events.
