The iconic Oast Garage in Odiham will be a familiar sight to many readers.

Douglas Goddard founded the business in 1949 and was joined two years later by his sister Barbara’s husband Brian Osman.

They soon expanded and took on the Austin, MG and Wolseley franchises, before switching to Ford in 1978, a partnership that continued for 40 years.

Douglas retired in 1970 and Brian and Barbara continued running the business, with their children Nikki and Neil taking over for the past 25 years. But now Nikki and Neil are retiring and selling the premises, ending a family link that has lasted for 73 years.
