AN eight-week table-top gardening course gets under way in Alton library next week.

The Sow & Grow course is free and anyone aged over 50 can apply for a place.

Funded by a Lottery grant, the course for green-fingered folk is being run by Fiona Oliver-Watkins, one of three project officers involved who has been running courses successfully in Hampshire libraries.

Mrs Oliver-Watkins said that Alton library was an ideal venue for the Sow & Grow initiative and a course is already up and running in Bordon library.

Information leaflets and application forms are available from library on Vicarage Hill in Alton.
