FIFTY acres of standing crop were lost in a field fire at Hambledon on Monday.

The alarm was raised at 4-40 pm, and fire appliances came from Waterlooville, Horndean and Cosham supported by Land Rovers from Waterlooville, Bordon, Alresford and Hamble and the Havant multi-role vehicle.

In all, 36 firefighters were on site and the fire was out at 5-30 pm.

At 8 am on Wednesday morning the Petersfield appliances were called to Ham Barn Farm, Greatham, to deal with a small fire in a vent in the roof space of a chicken shed. It was out

by 9 am.
