QUESTIONS are being asked as to why Alton was overlooked in the bidding to become the first East Hampshire town to run a farmers' market in the town square.

Members of the Alton Promotion and Marketing Forum were dismayed to see the project piloted in Petersfield when they had requested two years ago to host such an event.
