ALTON'S first Hampshire Farmers' Market attracted hundreds of visitors to enjoy a riot of colour, farm-fresh produce, and action in the Market Square on Sunday.

Fielding around 40 stalls manned by producers from across the county, the market was opened in traditional style when town mayor Pam Bradford rang Alton's newly refurbished market bell.
