A CHIDDINGFOLD farmer was on tenterhooks this week as the foot-and-mouth outbreak took its toll of more farms across the county as The Herald went to press.

As The National Trust placed restrictions on more than 3,000 acres of land in Haslemere and district, Paul Mills from Prestwick Farm, Prestwick Lane, near Haslemere, who has 800 of his total flock of 950 sheep in lamb, is keeping a watching eye on the situation.
