Two Farnborough roads are set to permanently remain two-way roads after a trial period showed strong support.
Hampshire County Council has confirmed that Gordon Road and Morris Road will stay two-way, following an experimental traffic order introduced in July 2024.
The changes were originally put in place to help businesses on Lynchford Road receive deliveries during and after improvement works to footways and cycleways.
As part of the decision, the council will also upgrade the existing daytime parking restriction on the south side of Gordon Road.
The current “no waiting” rule between 8.30am and 6pm will be replaced with a stricter “no waiting at any time” restriction.
While the “No Entry” sign on Morris Road will remain, traffic will continue to be allowed between Morris Road and Gordon Road under the revised layout.
The council said the absence of objections during the six-month consultation, together with earlier support from local businesses, showed strong backing for making the changes permanent.
The measures are also intended to help improve traffic resilience during any disruption on Lynchford Road, a key route through the town.
The experimental order remains in place until January 2026, when it is expected to be made permanent.
