JUDGING for the Hedgehogs 2019 Love Farnham Calendar took place on August 23, at the Council Chambers on South Street.

Winning the competition and a £100 prize was Ian Newman for his ‘Autumn at Waverley Abbey House’ photograph.

This will feature in the calendar in October.

Julian Paynter’s photograph of a ‘Snowy Hop Blossom Pub’, which will feature in January, placed him in runner-up position and winner of a £50 prize.

All those with photographs featured in the calendar will receive a free copy.

Judging the competition was Mayor of Farnham David Attfield, Eddie Pearce, Herald general manager, Paul Fitchett, owner of Paul Fitchett Images and freelance photographer, Meg Daniels, of Farnham Institute Charity, Farnham Assist and St Andrew’s Church, and Maureen Grew, of Farnham Homemakers, Farnham Institute Charity, Farnham Assist and St Andrew’s Church.

Now in its fifth year, the calendar was started by Luke Welvaert and raised more than £7,000 last year.

The calendar competition attracted more than 100 entries this year, which organisers managed to whittle down to just 40 ahead of the judging.

Each photograph was chosen in line with the different seasons and months.
