PROPOSED locations for more than 4,000 new houses in the villages and countryside surrounding Farnham have been published online by Waverley Borough Council. A public consultation on the council's Local Plan opened last week, seeking views on where to build up to 8,500 new homes in Waverley over the next 17 years. And Farnham and Cranleigh are set to bear the brunt of the borough's development in all four scenarios proposed by the council to meet Government targets. Three scenarios would see 1,800 to 3,400 houses built at Dunsfold Park aerodrome south of Godalming, and all propose building between 1,200 and 4,500 homes on greenfield sites. Farnham will be expected to take between 1,800 and 3,800 new homes - 21 per cent to 45 per cent of Waverley's housing burden - including 700 to 2,700 houses on greenfield sites.
