Sir, – On behalf of the Farnham Lions and The Hedgehogs I wish to thank everybody who helped make Farnham Carnival so successful. We greatly appreciate it.

There were 52 entries in the carnival procession and the street collection was approximately £2,500. This amount, suitably rounded up by us, has been distributed to the charities, youth clubs and schools that took part. Additionally, the Castle Street Fayre was very successful and we believe everybody there had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

We appreciate that none of this would be possible without the assistance of many businesses, organisations and individual volunteers from the Farnham area. We also greatly appreciated the support provided by the Police, the Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance. Last but not least, we thank the many children and adults who took part so enthusiastically in the procession having spent many hours preparing for the day. A lot of personal thanks have already been given but I fear some might have been missed. If this is the case, please accept my apologies.

Farnham Lions and The Hedgehogs both raise funds to help local charities and individuals in need. On Saturday, June 28, we hope that with the additional help we received we also gave Farnham residents and visitors to the town an enjoyable day.
