Last week, the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity attended the launch of Deliciously Dyslexic, a new cookbook by talented chef and dyslexia advocate Nick Jaye, better known as Bald Chef Nick.

The event took place in the historic Great Kitchen at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.

Deliciously Dyslexic is a cookbook designed with accessibility at its heart, offering a refreshing alternative for those who find traditional cookbooks difficult to navigate.

Featuring clear layouts, dyslexia-friendly fonts, and thoughtfully crafted recipes, the book is a powerful example of how inclusive design can empower and uplift.

Guests at the launch enjoyed a range of delicious nibbles and drinks inspired by the book’s recipes. The evening also included a successful fundraising raffle, raising nearly £900 to support the charity’s mission of helping people with dyslexia thrive.

Julie Bentley, chief executive of the Farnham-based charity, said: “This cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes — it’s a celebration of creativity, inclusivity, and the joy of cooking.

“We’re thrilled to support Bald Chef Nick and this inspiring project, helping more people mitigate the everyday challenges of living with dyslexia.”
